bailout alternative

Yesterday, we narrowly avoided unnecessarily straddling our children, grand-children, and great-grand-children with a 700 billon dollar tax burden, due to the American people speaking up and being heard by the majority of the house representatives.

Please take a minute to read the following common sense alternatives for fixing the ailing economy, and if you agree, click the links to send copies to your representatives.

I believe the word you seek is “saddling.” “Straddling” makes no sense in this context, and since you’re regurgitating a common phrase, you might as well get it right. Also, “grandchildren” doesn’t require a hyphen when it’s not “straddling” (ahem) two lines of text. However, “700-billion-dollar” is a modifier of the word that follows, so it *does* need hyphens.

Turns out that God reads my blog. And he has a fantastic knowledge of English grammar. And is willing to share with all comers.
